Preparation and notes

This test is performed by prior appointment with the laboratory only. Prior appointment required: contact the laboratory. On the day of collection, the patient should bring any previous tests: PSA measurement, ultrasound, biopsy. Eligibility requirements: 1. No biopsy in the last 3 months 2. Not taking medicines that affect PSA, such as 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors (e.g. finasteride) and LHRH agonists (e.g. leuprorelin) 3. Serum PSA measured within the last 6 months 4. Urine not collected via a catheter.
