The BGI Group

BGI was founded in 1999 as a research organisation to take part in the Human Genome Project. More than twenty years on, it is a global reference in genome sequencing, bioinformatics and molecular diagnostics.

Its services reach over 100 countries and regions and more than 2,300 healthcare institutions.

From Huo-Yan to Huo-Yan Express

During the COVID-19 pandemic, BGI created the Huo-Yan laboratories — “fire eye” in Chinese — able to get a high-throughput, biosafety level 2 laboratory running very quickly.

Huo-Yan Express brings that experience to everyday testing: a complete, fast and integrated laboratory, with over one hundred routine tests.
